Get hands-on learning with an American Sign Language class with a 2SLGBTQIA+ twist from Queer ASL! Your class will be taught by a Deaf queer instructor and will cover some basic American Sign Language signs, including the ASL alphabet and some Pride identity vocabulary. Instruction will feature a combination of ASL, presentation slides with images/English text, and an ASL-English interpreter.
Meet your Fun-structor
Kim Palmer (she/her) is a Deaf queer instructor who has been teaching ASL since 2016. This former GISH winner, has been working with - Grab a General Admission ticket, and you'll receive a handout with the signs you need to know.
- Upgrade to Front Row for more hands-on teaching in real-time during the class.
- Add a "Meet & Greet" to get an additional 30-45-minute intensive where you can ask questions and get support with specific signing needs or questions!
Every ticket supports Deaf Queer Resource Center, an LGBTQ-led 501(c)(3) non-profit providing information and resources, collecting and preserving Deaf LGBTQ history, advocating for communication access, and working to support, empower, and bring more visibility to and awareness about marginalized Deaf LGBTQ communities. TICKET OPTIONS
You can chose between GENERAL ADMISSION and FRONT ROW.
- General Admission: You can participate in our event LIVE with event chat, shout-outs, and access to viewable video you can rewatch after the Momentus event!
- Front-Row: Join the event as a special guest! Make sure you are camera-ready because you will visible to our Guest Host and audience during the Momentus event. The Front-Row will be able to interact with the Host, so be prepared... you may be called upon during the show!
MEET & GREETS
Exclusive post-event Meet & Greets will be offered on a limited basis. These are generally a 20-minute roundtable with up to 15 participants.
These will sell out fast, so purchase this option as soon as possible.
Additional event Meet & Greet opportunities may become available, based on the Guest Host's schedule, but may not be bundled.
