Gen Padalecki will sit down with author and gastronomy expert Giselle Kennedy. A James Beard National Scholar and ever-curious eater, Giselle has co-authored a book cataloging and celebrating heritage foods in the United States. Learn more about the book:

The Ark of Taste is a living catalog of our food heritage and a movement to preserve gastronomic treasures passed down for generations—some rare, some endangered, all delicious. Created by Slow Food, the Ark illuminates the history, identity, and taste of these unique food products, many of which were revived or saved from extinction by their Slow Food champions.  

The Ark of Taste book features how some of these American products almost didn’t reach our table, with recipes from Slow Food chefs and profiles of growers around the country.


This event will be a moderated author conversation. We have three ticket options:

  • Free Admission tickets will allow attendees to watch the private event live for free in realtime.
  • Single Nextperience tickets grant attendees access to submit questions to our hosts and guest author and potentially join us on camera to chat.
  • Momentus+ subscription gives ticketholders access to every Momentus experience we offer each month for one low price. See our other events here.

Meet & Greets are not currently available. If we put them on sale, they will be given on a very limited basis and will likely sell out fast. Please follow our social media channels and sign up for our mailing list to stay tuned for updates about all ticket sales.

Every paid ticket for this event provides 20 meals to families facing hunger through Feeding America, the largest charity working to end hunger in the United States through local food programs and policies that create long-term solutions.

:: About the Author::

Giselle Kennedy Lord became enamored with the Ark of Taste while working as the director of communications for Slow Food USA, where she championed the preservation of food culture and the importance of biodiversity. She holds a master’s degree in gastronomy from Boston University and was named James Beard National Scholar Northwest in 2018. Giselle is an avid traveler and ever-curious eater and has worked on farms and cooked in kitchens in four continents. Giselle currently lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband and one-year-old son.

  • General Admission: Participate in our event LIVE with event chat, shout-outs, and access to viewable video you can rewatch after the Momentus event! Ten lucky General Admission ticket holders will be picked at random to receive Front Row access! The Front-Row will be able to interact with the Host, so be prepared... you may be called upon during the show!
  • General Admission + Meet & Greet: Upgrade your ticket to include an exclusive post-event Meet & Greet! Simply purchase a General Admission ticket and a pop-up will offer available seats for our Meet & Greets. These will be offered on a limited basis and are generally a 20-minute roundtable with up to 15 participants.


These will sell out fast, so purchase this option as soon as possible.

Additional event Meet & Greet opportunities may become available, based on the Guest Host's schedule, but may not be bundled.


A portion of all ticket sales will support our Guest Host's charity of choice. Our charity partners provide vital resources, support and advocacy for needful causes, communities, people, flora, fauna and initiatives!

Our company will donate a portion of profits to extend our support and commitment to our Guest Host's efforts.
